Why Don't You Know Algebra Blessed?

Oh this is a much deserved musical Artist RANT
I remember the day I first heard this melodic smooth voice on Pandora radio Pandora.com
I was cooking dinner and I had to STOP and walk over to my Mac to see who in the world was musically hypnotizing me! Seriously, this sounds over the top but it's the truth!
A rising icon from Atlanta that deserves more attention.
Algebra's first album titled Purpose has 14 tracks I don't skip one. Hummm why don't you know Algebra?

So..... Where in the world is Socially Chy??

Ummm so yeah, I have been horrible at keeping up with this blog! I have officially fell OFF the bandwagon!
So I pull my head up and dust my self off and say GUESS WHO'S BACK!?

Some things have changed since I last posted....
Hubby and I moved from Chicago  and now live in northern Georgia. We really like it here, the people are for the most part pleasant. It is very beautiful... The trees and mountains are amazing! Really can't complain!

I'm not so much involved in event planning anymore. I left my Fab design team back in Chicago and I miss them very much! I will resume planning events as I finish up in school and gain more knowledge while shadowing some event planning GREATS! I'm so excited!

So I'll be updating this blog with experiences in GA and other exciting things that come along!

Chow for now,
Socially Chy

Just some things I've been working on....

I thought I would share pics of two centerpieces I recently put together for one of my clients that really wanted fresh apples in the design. It's for a graduation party for her daughters. One is graduating from college with a B.A. in secondary education and the other is on her way to college majoring in education as well! Two snaps for the future!!!!! Since apples are the trademark for teachers, I think these fit perfectly.

This one is a centerpiece made with grammy smith apples (I found some with a little pink in them) and cute colorful flowers and a simple bow.... I love this one for outdoor events!

This is a fresh cored red apple with a tea light candle in the center with fall leaves. The venue is a beautiful loft with exposed brick and dim lighting. Of course I will have tea light holders for the day of.

Aloft by Westin

Okay I'm so excited about this hotel!I must say I'm a true fan of Westin hotels to start with. I always have a pleasant experience. Aloft is boutique hotel, the colors are vibrant, the staff is upbeat and friendly instead of the traditional (stuffy) hotel staff we have all become accustom to http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Boutique_hotel Additionally, all rooms come with an over sized shower and free hi-speed Internet. This will be my party venue for New Years Eve. The offer includes:
overnight aloft room for two
9 drink tickets on us
all night munchies
bubbly toast when the clock strikes 12
5 bands and dj jamn' till 2am
free parking for your ride
early check in starting at 12:00pm
late check out of 3:00pm
watch the games in W xyz on new years day
I'll post more pictures after my stay!
Hospitality Tip for the day: Greet a new person everyday!

SOcially Chy Events!

Well hello all!

I'm Chy, a current student at a Les Roches Hospitality school in Chicagoland my concentration is meeting and event planning. Over the past six months I have been planning birthday parties, anniversary parties, fundraising galas, and I'm currently planning a wedding for next year. I feel really good about the progression I've made since I started school. I have had a passion for event planning since I was a teenager, then I didn't know it was something I could make a career out of. Today event planning especially wedding planning is huge all over the world. I eventually want to have my own event planning company. I am a strong believer of you get what you work for. I'm working really hard now to be successful after I finish school. This blog will be about my progression in the event planning world as I go through my last two years of school. I'm excited to document all events I have and even share some information and ideas to whoever's interested! I'm so excited about the future!
